Sometimes, it feels like there isn\u2019t<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">enough space to accommodate them all. In tight spots, as we collide with each other, we become aware that our perspective is not the only one; neither is it the only correct one. To continue our existence, we need to change &#8211; to choose whether to limit ourselves to our own bubble, or to react with force and violence, or, perhaps, try to understand and accept the possibility &#8211; inevitability, even &#8211; of difference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Differences can enrich our world, make it more exciting and alive. Attempts at<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">understanding can elicit bafflement, curiosity, recognition; if not always delight, then<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">at least a peace of mind &#8211; a feeling of liberation that comes from allowing the world to be more than a monoculture made up of clones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In our conflations, we study and reveal different layers, angles, thoughts,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">their past and future, their interactions and confluences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simonefezer.com\/\"><strong>Simone Fezer<\/strong><\/a> is a German artist working with glass, performances and installations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On extensive travels, she has worked as assistant to renowned artists and studied at<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">various international schools such as the Penland School of Crafts, and Centro<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Studio Vetro in Italy. She had a residency at the Tacoma Museum of Glass in<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Washington, USA in 2016, and at Gallery S12 in Bergen, Norway in 2020. In 2019,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">she was awarded the Irvin Borowsky International Award of the University of Arts,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Philadelphia. She has a Teaching Assignment for Sculptural Glass at the Academy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, Germany, and exhibits her mostly large-scale installations in<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Glass and Mixed Media nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In her work, Simone Fezer addresses the fragility and interdependency of all life, and aims to create interdisciplinary and immersive environments. She likes to collaborate with other artists, bringing together installation, performance and multi-media, creating stages for the viewer to enter and explore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kaikoppel.ee\/\"><strong>Kai Koppel<\/strong><\/a> is a daring experimenter in the field of hot glass, working with the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">medium since 1975. Her early works included spatial glass objects. During the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">1980s, as a young artist, she opposed the rational, geometric conventions of design<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">with her own Dionysian method, based on the expressive randomness of hot glass.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Instead of form following function, and contrary to consumerism, she drew inspiration from symbolic imagery, from nature, from ancient architecture; she became known for her large, columnar forms that took on the appearance of architectonics. She is a process-oriented artist for whom the physical involvement with the material and technology is essential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/katikerstna.ee\/\"><strong>Kati Kerstna<\/strong><\/a> is a socially sensitive artist with a focus on environmental topics. She<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">likes to visualise her topics via the contradictory nature of glass. Testing the border<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">between fragility and strength, playing with transparency, reflections, light and optics<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">are some of her tools. Her creations are sculptural installations which draw attention<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">to both space and form, and their illusoriness. She has been active as a curator<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">whose endeavours have brought attention to Estonian glass art in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Currently, she is co-curating exhibitions of Baltic glass art. Together with Kai Koppel<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and Simone Fezer, she has contributed to the organisation of the Haapsalu hot glass symposia.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;18307&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;18306&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;18305&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; title=&#8221;Personal exhibition in Rapla 2024<br \/>\nTHE PSALMS&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The exhibition THE PSALMS consists of two series of works, which were exhibited in 2019 at Draakon Gallery in Tallinn and in 2021 at Tampere Maja in Tartu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\">Incense symbolises the love of God that he pours on us all, and the grace of the Holy Spirit, which spreads on the faithful as a good odour. A priest says when blessing the censer: \u201cWe offer you incense, O Christ our God, for an odour of spiritual fragrance. Receive it upon your heavenly altar, and send down upon us in return the grace of your all-holy Spirit\u201d. I have used the smoke in my work, or rather the miraculously short moment that remains after the flame has been extinguished. There is a feeling that someone&#8217;s invisible hand is writing with smoke over the emptiness in fine calligraphy using different languages &#8211; maybe Hebrew, maybe Arabic or some other language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: center;\">\u201cLet my prayer arise as incense before thee\u2026\u201d 1\u201312. Bodiless Heavenly Hosts\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>continues my\u00a0previous exhibition \u201ePS 141:2. The Psalms and Prophet Jonah in the Belly of the Whale\u201d, that took place in Draakon Gallery in spring, 2019. Then, I was taking pictures of candlesmoke. Now I have switched to photographing fog, coming from an old fog machine. The new images have more volume and colour, there are some faces with character.
